Science Fun Fest

Last Saturday, The Olifant School hosted a Science Fun Fest.  (Short side story . . . the day before the Fun Fest, Truett told me we had to go upstairs to make a vegetable.  A vegetable??  We soon figured out he meant festival!  So, we just kept saying that we were going to the Science Vegetable.)  It was a fun time, but we didn't get many pictures.  The kids did a few science experiments with their class, an "obstacle" course, put together a skeleton, ate some snacks, and watched the family science costume contest.  Watch out 2016, the Quinlan family is going to rock the family science costume contest next year!  A little story about Truett . . . the obstacle course consisted of several rounds, and the top kids in each round would advance to the next.  For the first round, the kids were given construction paper shapes and asked to make a person.  Truett could have done that in his sleep!  He loves playing with shapes to made designs.  However, he didn't advance to the next round.  In fact, his design looked nothing like a person.  What???  When I asked him about it later, he said he was supposed to make a person, but he decided he wanted to make a motorcycle instead.  Okay, kid, whatever you want!  Here are some pictures:

The kids have doctor visits at the school.  They checked the kids' ears, mouth, and eyes.  They were also "measured," as Truett said.  Here's a picture that a friend took.

And a few more pictures from Chinese New Year in Paisley's class.
