Young Adult Beach Trip

We took our young adults from our Bible study on a beach trip last weekend.  We had a great time, but didn't really get any swimming in.  The first beach had coral all over the bottom and the second beach had waves that were just too big.  The kids still had fun!

 We visited Goa Gong, a very neat cave, full of stalagmites and stalactites.  Here's the bridge across the beautiful scenery to the cave.

Hari Kartini (Kartini Day)

On Wednesday at school, our kids celebrated Ibu Kartini Day.  She was a "pioneer in the area of education for girls and women's rights in Indonesia" (thank you, wikipedia) and the kids dressed Javanese and did some songs and dances for the parents.  We rented Paisley's outfit and she LOVED it.  She started asking at 6:30 in the morning if she could put her dress on (school doesn't start until 10:30, so 6:30 was a bit too early).  We put her hair up and put make up on her.  Oh she was in heaven!  And she looked like a doll!  Truett wore a batik shirt with a traditional jacket that he used at his preschool graduation last year.  We also bought him a Javanese had a few months back, so he wore that.  He actually wore the outfit the following day just because he liked it.  The first pictures are taken in our front yard, so you can see what they looked like.  Sorry that there are many that look almost the same, I couldn't figure out which ones I liked best, so I just included them all (not true, I deleted a ton!).  The rest are from their performances.  They were both in the back row, so it was a bit hard to get pictures.

Paisley's class sang a couple of Indonesian songs and ended with "You Are My Sunshine."  They came out and gave their parents pictures of sunshines that they colored.  Cute!  

 

This is one of Paisley's best little friends at school.  Her mom found the traditional dresses for them to wear.

 Truett's class sang two songs and he did great with the dance/motions.  

He's not always into dancing, so I was proud of him.
