Photo Friday, March 13

Are you ready for Photo Friday?

Before we moved, each Sunday we would stop at a local donut shop on the way to church.  Gotta keep traditions alive!  So, each Sunday morning, we walk to Dunkin Donuts.  This past Sunday, we were picking up a friend at the airport.  Lucky for us, there's a Dunkin Donuts at the airport.  Here are the kids munching down.

Sunday at church, we found out that there's a new restaurant in town.  The owner is from TEXAS!  They have Mexican food, too.  Well, Mexican with an Indonesian flair, but it was a fun place to go.  they had a bandana on the wall with a cowboy hat.  Boy was Truett excited to play with those.  The owner was nice enough to let my kids take over the white board as we were leaving.  We'll be back.

The kids watch videos from GiGi and Nana most every night.  This night they enjoyed watching as they wore their blankets as superhero capes.

 Fun with the neighborhood kids.

We think rainy season is soon coming to an end, so we took full advantage of it the other day.  The kids wanted me to go out and play with them, so I ran out under the tree and got SOAKED.  The kids ran after me and quickly ran back inside.  After stripping them down, they decided they wanted to go back out in it.  So, on went the rainboots with the undies and diaper.  Such a cute pair.  Paisley loved it and ran right out.  Tru took a step or two off the porch and turned right back around.  I like that one picture where it looks like Tru is giving Pais some clever older brother advice.

And then they started singing and dancing.
"Singin' in the rain, just singin' in the rain.  What a glorious feeling, we're happy, again!"

This is one of my 4th grade classes.  Fun kids and fun times.  In these pictures, they're working on rewriting a story I just told them.  I'll try to take some more pictures around the school so you can see more of it, but this gives you an idea of the classrooms.  The one bad thing is that there is really no outdoor play area.  So, they made an indoor one!  Great idea . . . except no one in the building can teach while kids are playing because of the noise!

This is the view out of the window in this class.

We have figured out that we have a Friday tradition.  We go to the mall with the good play place.  It's fun for the kids and it let's one of us at a time do a little shopping.  They could play in there for hours.  Every once in a while, a family will want to take a picture with our kids.  It's actually quite annoying and the kids really don't like it.  If they know the family, they're all smiles.  If it's just someone who comes up and shoves a camera in their faces, they usually turn around and say, "no!"  There was a family there tonight who just couldn't get the hint.  Every time I turned around, they were trying to put their kid next to one of my kids to take a picture.  Paisley finally relented, but Truett didn't.  I don't blame him!
We also saw one of our friends from the neighborhood there tonight.  It was pretty fun to be out in public and actually see someone we know.  Makes us feel like we're settling in and getting to know people.  The kids had fun playing with her (while the mom just went on shopping, leaving her with us).

The kids love this ball pit.  It just gives me the heebie jeebies thinking of all of the germs in that place!
