Just Some Stuff

Whew!  What a week it's been.  Both kids are sick and Michael left town yesterday.  Tru just got sick today, but Pais has been sick for awhile.  We found out today she has an amoeba.  So, she'll be on meds for a while.  Hopefully they will both be better soon, we're supposed to fly to meet Michael next Friday.  So, all that to say, I just found some random pictures to put up on today's post.

We'll start with a couple of cuties!

Look how well they get along (sometimes)

One of the play places at a mall has some dress up clothes.  The kids had a ball!

I bought some hair color chalk and Truett was excited for the green and blue.  Unfortunately, it didn't show up as much as we would have liked.

 Family selfies!

The kids did a little fishing the other day.  Those fish LOVE bread!

Truett watches a cartoon called "Wild Kratts," where two live action brothers turn into cartoons and have "creature powers."  This is Truett with his cougar power (or some other large cat).

What?!?!?!

Yep, we let our kids wear dress up clothes to the mall.  People stare at us enough because we have a different skin color.  Might as well give them something to look at!

When Michael and I were in Kenya, we came to love a food called chipati.  We've been begging our Kenyan friend to make it for us ever since he moved here 11 months ago.  Finally, the week before he moved home he came over and we cooked!

There have been a lot of good-byes this past month.  Here we are saying bye to our two favorite German girls.  We are thankful for all of the friends we make here, but so many people are here for such a short time that we are always saying good-bye.

Shadow Drawing

I found this neat little activity the other day and decided to try it out.  Since it's super sunny here almost all the time (well, actually rainy season was supposed to end about a month and a half ago, but we still have a pretty heavy rain every few days.  El Nino???).  Truett really got in to this and had a lot of fun.  Then he taught me how to draw a cow and a rocketship.  I didn't take pictures of those, but he did a really good job.
He's a good little teacher and a great encourager.

All About Paisley

Several weeks ago, I posted a blog with pictures of Truett.  I though it was Paisley's turn.

These first ones are from the time Paisley got a hold of my phone while waiting to pick up Truett.  The little boy is the younger brother of a friend in Truett's class.  Isn't he adorable!!  Look at that smile!  The other girl is one of Paisley's two best friends at school.  Unfortunately, she's moving to a different class this next school year.

We had a little fun with some Kool Aid.  She loves it!  So sassy!

Yes, yes, I know these are more pictures of Paisley without clothes on.  I've got to be honest, she does that often.  It's just too hot in this country.

The kids love a website that has a dad teaching his kids to draw.  This is Paisley's picture of Elsa.
It really is a great site!

We had a girls' night a few weeks ago with the girls from our young adult Bible study.
Paisley went with the banana face mask.  She loved it!
