End of School Party and a Weekend of Friends

Paisley's class had an end of year party at a local hotel.  It's a really nice hotel that has a play place in it.  Sometimes our family goes there to eat dinner, just so the kids can play at the play place.  Anyway, the mom's of Paisley's class decided to have a party for the kids and teachers.  And, being in Indonesia, there was a dress code.  That always makes me laugh a bit.  Paisley's class was called the Purple Noon class, so we all dressed in purple (or white).

So, I didn't want to worry about parking at this hotel, so we ordered a go-car, kind of like Uber, but the trip cost was $1.  As we were waiting, we decided to take some selfies.

On the way, the kids wanted to sit together and read.  Sometimes they really do love each other!

The party was supposed to start at 5:30.  We got there right on time.  Since no one else showed up until 5:50, we had time for some more selfies.

And the party starts.  There was a nice big buffet.  Yum!

These are the presents for the teachers.  They each got flowers, a purse, and something else, but I don't know what it was.

This is the mom of one of Paisley's friends.  I appreciate her because she always takes the time to talk to me and make sure I feel included.

Here are some other pictures I found on my phone.  If you notice, Paisley and her best friend next to her decided it would be funny to look made in their class pictures.

 Miss Tata and Miss Mina

Now, back to America.  If you remember, Michael had to be back in Indonesia for about 6 weeks while we were in Texas.  One of the weekends, we had the most wonderful visit from some friends.  Sara came with Ryker, Reese, and Robyn on Friday afternoon.  Kim came with Autumn, Samantha, and Claire on Saturday in time for lunch (at Smaltz!!!).

We started Friday evening at Kiddie Land.

Playing dress up.  Cutest little Elsa!

On Saturday morning, we went to an arts festival down by the Suspension Bridge.  It was lots of fun with lots of things for the kids to make.

Then the moms got an afternoon off.  We started at Magnolia Silos, of course!

The Waco zoo is fun, especially with friends!

And you can't visit Waco in October without going to the Heart Of Texas Fair and Rodeo!

I AM THANKFUL FOR THESE PEOPLE!

Kids' Drama and Weddings in America

This past semester, each student in "big" kindergarten (remember, kindergarten is 2 years here) got to pick a special activity to do once  a week.  Paisley picked Kids' Drama.  At the end of the semester, the parents got to come watch the play that was the culmination of the semester's work.  Paisley got to be a grandmother and a narrator.

Paisley's friend, Sofia, was also in the the play.

While waiting for the play to start . . .

The kids has wireless mics on.  Unfortunately, it was a bad sound system and you still couldn't understand what they were saying!

The teacher sat next to them and told them the lines if they forgot (Paisley did a GREAT job!).

 Take a bow.

And sing a song.

While in America, both Michael and I had siblings who got married.  Michael officiated his sister's wedding, so he didn't take any pictures.  The only ones we have are these from the kids wearing their rehearsal dinner clothes.  They look cute here, but they looked adorable on the day of the wedding!

At my brother's wedding, Michael had no official duty, so he played the role of photographer before the ceremony.

Brad and Jennifer asked Truett to be the "ring bear."  Lucky for them, we had just bought this huge bear head!

What is he contemplating???

 Two great guys!
