Planes, Trains, and Automobiles . . . nope, just trains

We went to a train museum a few weeks ago.  It wasn't so much of a museum, actually, just a lot of trains lined up.  The kids loved climbing through the trains and pretending we were going on a trip (to Texas, of course!).

Ballet and Parties

Paisley has started ballet class.  A couple of funny stories.  First, I don't think she's old enough to be in the class.  A friend at school said the kids have to be 3 1/2.  I guess because Paisley is taller than Indonesian kids, they assumed she was old enough.  However, they put her in a class with 4 1/2 year olds.  I love my girl and think she's amazing, but I'm not sure she has the coordination of a kid a year older.  But, she enjoys it, so we'll keep with it.  Last, I still get the Indonesian words for Thursday and Friday confused.  So, when they told me her second class of the week was on Friday, I thought they meant Thursday.  So, we showed up and I ushered her into the wrong class.  Oops!  Good thing she's cute!

The first pictures are from Paisley's "practice day" to see if she wanted to join, which is why she is wearing her street clothes.  Notice the little girl sitting next to her is reaching out for her.  They all wanted to hold her hand, pet her arm, and touch her hair.  Paisley was quite the trooper and didn't mind.

We have made some new friends at church.  They moved here recently and have a 5 year old and 7 year old.  Their birthdays are a few days after Paisley's, so they invited us over to their house for a little party.  Their girls made party games and the kids had lots of fun.  It ended with a nice walk to a local restaurant with their family.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MICHAEL!

On August 14, 35 years ago, Michael was born and the world has never been the same!  So, wish that amazing guy a happy birthday!
And another family update . . . Paisley got Student of the Month for July!  She got it for always being punctual, which I think is funny because she doesn't really have anything to do with the time she gets to school =)
I went back through some pictures and found these from the first day of school (back in July) and from the Fourth of July.  Surely my kids aren't the only ones who don't smile for pictures, right??
