Thanksgiving

We had the most happy Thanksgiving!  I wanted to just have a few American friends over, but Michael convinced me we should invite pretty much every one we know.  I'm sure glad he convinced me.  We had a great time!  We had people from America, Korea, Malaysia, Australia, England, Holland, and Indonesia.  It was the most multicultural Thanksgiving celebration I have ever been to and it was a blast.

Our garage and yard were filled with a train of motorcycles and our porch was covered in dusty shoes.  Most people here ride motorcycles and everyone takes shoes off at the door.

Here's a picture of the delicious food and a run down of all that we had to eat.

We had KFC chicken (there are no turkeys in Indonesia these days), corn bread (kind of) stuffing, corn casserole, green bean casserole, green beans, mashed potatoes (with brown and white gravy), sweet potato casserole with frosted flakes and brown sugar on top, cinnamon apples, deviled eggs, and bread.  We actually bought white rice and fried rice at the last minute because we were worried we wouldn't have quite enough food.  Yes, I made most of it with the help of Michael and a couple of exchange students.

And now for the scrumptious desserts.  They were amazing!

Here are a few random shots from the evening.  I love how these pictures show so many people from different cultures sitting around enjoying a meal together.

Doing some last minute food prep.

Our kids loved having these friends over and have asked everyday for them to come back.

And I'll leave you with some things the kids have made for Thanksgiving.

In case you can't read that, the one on the left says, "Truett is thankful for building stuff, like wood, elephants, zoo.  He is also thankful that Paisley is his sister."  The one on the right says, "Paisley is thankful that Truett is a big boy."  So glad they are thankful for each other!  We sure are thankful for them!
