Truett's 5th Birthday

Get ready for about 71 pictures of Truett's 5th birthday.

We Skyped and FaceTimed part of the time when Truett was opening presents.
This is Michael on a call with him mom.

Patiently waiting.

And the fun begins.

He got one of those things . . . I have no idea what it's called . . . but we all had fun making faces in it.

 The FIVE year old!!!

Tru was nice enough to let his little sister open one of his presents.  He sure loves her!

He had a little party up at school and he wanted an Angry Birds cake.

He loved being the center of attention as he sat up in the front of the room and his friends sang to him.

He served his family first.

He got to be the "Captain" for the day.  Part of that included leading the closing prayer, as well as picking the kids to line up for the end of the day.  And each of his friends gave him a hug as they lined up.

For parties at the school, the birthday kid gives presents to all of his friends.  These presents can get pretty elaborate!  Sometimes meals are given, sometimes toys, sometimes tupperware, and always a goodie bag.  We opted for an Angry Birds shirt for each kid.

As the kids lined up to go home, Truett handed each one a shirt.

Oh, and this is my favorite picture from the day at school.

We ended the day with a trip to McDonald's with friends.  Boy, did they have a good time!!

What is life going to be like with a five year old?!?!?!?
