Ahtletics Carnival 2020

The kids' school had an Athletics Carnival (Field Day) this week.  It was SO hot!  It's rainy season, so usually the mornings are a bit over cast or drizzly.  Not last Friday!  The sun was out and it was HOT!  But the kids had a blast!

The kids ran in 2 races, a sack race, a relay race, bean bag toss, discus, and long jump.  Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures from the long jump.

The school is split into three "houses."  Our kids are in Nakula, the red team.

This is Paisley's first race, 100 meters (a little over 100 yards)

And here comes Truett in the boys' race.

High Fives to the other teams.

Time for the sack race.

This picture makes me laugh.  It looks like Tru is just hanging out there watching his friends.

But maybe his was just watching.

Each Friday, the kids read with their reading buddies.  This is Paisley's

I love the way he's looking at her.  He really likes her.

 I really like her, too!

Now it's the 200 meter race.  It was pretty long for these little ones.

 Back to the high fives.

 And Truett's off . . .

Michael advised him to take it a little easy at the beginning . . .

And then go hard at the end . . .

He was in 3rd place until this point . . .

Then he went all out and passed the kid in 2nd . . .

He almost caught up with the guy in first!

This little girl is a great encourager to her friends.

Before the Athletics Carnival, Paisley told us she wasn't a very fast runner, but that she was good at the bean bag toss.  She was right!

18 bean bags in the hole!

Sitting in the hot sun, getting ready for the shot put.

Under-over ice relay to end the day.
