Pianica

WHAT IS A PIANICA???  Yes, that was our first question when we had to sign Truett up for it at school.  You see, there were several choices and Truett wanted soccer, of course, but that filled up too quick.  So, he got stuck with pianica.  This is a pianica . . .

He spent a whole semester learning how to play that thing.  Boring?  Yes.  And he came away with playing 1 1 1 5 5 5 1 1 1 5 5 5 (for those of you who are musical, that's like playing C's and G's).  The older kids learned a few more notes, I guess.  Here's a video of his riveting performance.  Notice the hands of the teacher who is directing.  He's indicating if the kids should be playing the 1 or 5.

He's giving us a "thumbs up" to let us know he's ready!

I think we need to work on his posture . . .

I wrote out the notes for Twinkle Twinkle Little Star for him one day.  He's showing us that he has it, but promising that he's not going to play it in the middle of the recital!

Such concentration.

Look at his eyes on the director.  I know Grams is proud!

I also have a few last pictures to add on from Cambodia.  These tuk tuks are how we traveled around the city while we were there.  Pretty fun!

The kids were so exhausted after a fun filled day and an evening of trick or treating that they just couldn't stay awake any longer!!
