Not too many pictures this week. This weekend, however, we went up to the mountain for a quick overnight vacation. I'll tell you about that next week. For now, here are some pictures from the week.
We'll start with a BBQ we had with friends last weekend. They cooked some chicken on the grill, and brought along some PORK. Good stuff. Sandra made onion rings and potato salad, and I added a delicious corn casserole, some baked beans, and watermelon. While the dads were grilling and the moms were cooking, the kids had so much fun playing together. Good food with good friends.
We are so thankful for this family. A little background on how we met
them. I think I've mentioned that the son is in Truett's class. Well,
it's a class we did not want to be in. First of all, it starts at 8:00
in the morning. A little too early for my liking, but it works since my
kids get up around 6:00. It also meets on Tuesday,Thursday, and
Saturday. Who wants to go to school on Saturday?? But, we agreed since
it was the only class left open and we were hoping to get better class
next school year. It turns out that this was the best class for us!
Truett has great teachers and we have met this wonderful family.
We were going to go with them to an airshow on Sunday afternoon, but it ended earlier than we thought. So we just went out to dinner and let the kids play.
Playing with Tata, our next door neighbor.
Michael went to get his hair cut the other day. Every time he goes, Truett begs to go get his hair cut, too. We're not sure if it's because he really wants his hair cut or because he likes to drink the juice they serve him! This time we decided he could go ahead and go, so we went as a family for the guys to get haircuts. Truett said he wanted a haircut, "like this . . . " and he made a mohawk motion with his hands. So, that's what we did. (Although he doesn't want it all "spiky" any more) Here are the results . . .
Here are some pictures from IndoCharis. It's a place for those who have addictions, have been abused, or just left by their families. Their ages range from 20 or so to about 60. I went there with the Ladies' International Club.
These are their rooms. They each had 2 sets of bunk beds and a small desk.
These are pictures from the area right outside of the center. It was beautiful countryside. On the way there, we passed so many rice fields with people working in them. After they have harvested the rice, they have to lay it out to dry. They just put it on pallets and lay it out in the street. And what happens when you're in a car that needs to go past? Just drive over it!
These last two pictures are just of our kids having fun. Truett loved that motorcycle (as Paisley calls them, "motor-michael or motor-monster)
